By registering an account, purchasing items, or opening a storefront on Ostigo, you consent to the data collection and usage practices outlined in this policy.

We gather different sets of data depending on how you interact with our platform:

Account Information: Name, personal or institutional email address, phone number, and password.
Buyer Transaction Data: Shipping addresses, billing details, and specific purchase histories.
Student Seller Verification: Proof of student status (such as a school email domain, physical student ID scan, or institutional affiliation details).
Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, device identifiers, and site navigation patterns collected via cookies and log systems.

3. Student Vendor Specifics

When you create a storefront on Ostigo, you become a "Student Vendor." To enable your store, we require additional verification details to ensure the integrity and safety of our campus marketplace environment.

Store Safety & Integrity: We do not publish your private identification documents. Your verification is used solely by Ostigo and Ostitto administrators to authorize your access to seller features and prevent fraudulent store activity.

4. Buyer & Seller Data Sharing

Unlike standard centralized e-commerce websites, Ostigo is a decentralized marketplace. To facilitate successful transactions, physical data transfers are necessary:

When a buyer places an order, the target Student Vendor is granted access to the buyer's Full Name, Contact Number, and Delivery Address strictly to complete fulfillment and dispatching.

Strict Restriction Rule: Student Vendors are contractually and legally prohibited from utilizing customer contact details for marketing campaigns, independent mailing lists, or off-platform communication without explicit, separate consent from the buyer. Violations will result in immediate store suspension.

5. Secure Payment Processing

Ostigo integrates leading, secure third-party billing networks and payment processors backed by our parent concern, Ostitto. We do not store, process, or hold raw financial parameters (such as complete credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account credentials) on our local servers.

Payouts to Student Vendors are handled through secure disbursement protocols. Financial transactions are encrypted with Industry Standard SSL/TLS security protocols.

6. Data Security & Retention

We enforce modern, industry-accepted security practices to safeguard your credentials and private details. We retain data as long as your account is active or as necessary to comply with university rules, state guidelines, or financial record laws.
